Too many new "Soft Launches"

Hi All,

Is it just me...or has everyone else observed that there are far too many new "soft launches" going on nowadays.
You hear about one almost every other day with ridiculous prices & delivery dates far into the future.
Is this a last-ditch attempt by developers to get as much as money as they before things crash-&-burn??
